Biography
Krasimir Balakov is one of Bulgaria’s most iconic footballers and a central figure of the national team’s “Golden Generation” of the 1994 World Cup. Born on 29 March 1966 in Veliko Tarnovo, he earned 92 caps and scored 16 goals for Bulgaria. His club career included Etar Veliko Tarnovo, Sporting CP and VfB Stuttgart, where he became a Bundesliga legend. After his playing days, he moved into coaching and management.
